Cancellations by Whiteadder Watersports Trust

We strive to ensure everything goes smoothly, however sometimes unexpected situations arise.

Here’s our policy in such cases:

Whiteadder Watersports Trust reserves the right to cancel, modify, or postpone

bookings at any time if necessary due to conditions beyond our control.

If this happens, we’ll offer an alternative or provide a full refund.

Any alternatives offered will be subject to the same terms as the original booking.

Whiteadder is not liable for any additional costs incurred due to the cancellation.

Why would we cancel?

Adverse Weather Conditions

Severe weather like storms, high winds, or lightning can make water activities unsafe.

Equipment Malfunction

Essential equipment failure can make the activity unable to run safety within risk assessments.

Health and Safety Concerns

Issues like water contamination or illness outbreaks can arise, requiring us to prioritise everyone's well-being.

Insufficient Bookings

Low enrolment may make the course unfeasible, impacting our viability as a non-profit and the quality experience for participants.

Limited Staffing

Shortages of qualified instructors due to unforeseen circumstances like illness or emergencies.

Some other points to bear in mind:

If you are booked on a multiple day or weekly event and have to miss a day or week or more, no refund will be given. If you miss the first day of a course, then we will not provide a refund and the second day cannot be taken as the learning on the first day is critical to the learning on the second. If you miss the first day of a weekly activity, this will affect the quality of the learning process but the instructor will make efforts to help the student catch up.

Travel and own-equipment insurance is not included in the package. Our activities have an inherent risk and accidents that do not arise from anyone’s negligence can happen. The participant is responsible for making sure they have adequate insurance. Overseas participants coming to the UK must also have their own travel insurance.

Acceptance of a place on the activity binds the student to behave responsibly and follow the instructions of the staff, especially on safety matters. Students not following the instruction of staff or whose behaviour is deemed unacceptable by staff may be asked to leave the activity without a refund. Any damage or loss caused by the student will be recovered from the student by the Centre.

The Trust cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage or injury to any student or property. We will endeavour to return property left at the Centre but this may involve a charge (online postal charges can be paid and labels printed by the Centre).

If you have a complaint, please make this known to the manager either in person or by email/post and every effort will be made to reach an amicable solution.

Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times when on the water. Participants must be reasonably physically fit and advise of any illnesses or disabilities at the time of booking. If you are taking medication, you must inform your instructor. Participants with the following conditions must check with their doctor before making a booking: epilepsy, angina, giddy spells, a heart condition or any condition that makes exertion difficult or might be brought on by immersion in cold water  Participants must ensure that they are protected with sunscreen and have sufficient fluids to hand. Parents may leave sunscreen with the instructor to reapply during the day.

Photographs may be taken from time to time. Please let us know if you do not wish to have photographs taken. We appreciate you may not want this and will endeavour to accommodate your wishes.

The Trust, its employees and representatives are not be liable for any injury or illness directly or indirectly resulting from the use of its facilities.
